How it works
Built for families doing this for the first time.
Kindred Corner is a free community board, not an agency. Nobody pays to be listed, nobody pays to reply, and we don't take a cut of anything you arrange.
- 1
Post what you need
A few sentences about the tasks, the days, and the town. Say clearly that no medical care is needed — that's what brings the right people.
- 2
Browse and message neighbors
Read helper listings near your ZIP code and write to anyone who looks like a fit. Messages stay private between the two of you.
- 3
Meet, ask for references, start small
Meet at your parents' home, ask for two references and call them. Begin with one short visit a week and build from there.
Staying safe
- Always meet in person before anyone starts, ideally with another family member.
- Ask for two references from other families and actually call them.
- Never share bank details, card numbers or account logins in messages.
- Keep money simple: agree an hourly rate, pay weekly, and keep a note of the hours.
- For anything medical — medication, bathing, mobility support — use a licensed home care agency instead.
